Hey guys! I, Judith, illustrator and founder of Illustrators Illustrated, am excited to be teaching a Summer School course at the design akademie berlin!
‘Sketching in Berlin’ gets out of the classroom to explore Berlin, both physically and graphically. Experimenting with different media and graphic techniques, we will explore how drawing can be used to communicate a sense of place. Through observing people, recording the urban environment and re-imagining our explorations of the city, we will gain new perspectives on a city constantly in flux.
As well as getting out and about sketching, we will look at composition as a basis for sketching, we will play with line and texture, explore colour theory, get gestural, and create narrative illustrations or maps about our journey around Kreuzberg.
The course runs 21-25th of August, 2017.
